GLUE GUN TECHNIQUES July 2016Piping glue using traceing Sara Quail

with Sara Quail

Armed with a number of glue guns, Sara showed us a myriad of ways of using a glue gun to transform this humble adhesive into elements suitable for incorporation into textile pieces. From stand alone pieces that could be couched or stitched into, as a resist for painting and discharge, as a stencil , an aid to manipulating fabric - to embedding items such as threads, beads and fabric confetti into the glue. Various ways to stamp, paint, foil, mould and manipulate hot glue were also explored.
