2D 3D textiles - Workshop photos

With Jennie Abbott:

Comprising two phases:

Creating the 2D background, then planning and creating the 3D objects to be attached.

Using commercial canvases, Jennie went through a variety of ways to create a textured surface. Glue, tissue paper and a variety of paints and finishes can be used, as well other dimensional ingredients like yarn, wood shavings, sand, modelling paste, layers of fabric and other papers.

3D elements are added later and she demonstrated some of the many ways these can be created using free machine embroidery techniques.
