Format of Meetings

Subject to confirmation of the schedule for the year, we meet on the 2nd Sunday of every month from 9:30am to 3:30pm at the main hall of Alexander Park Craft House, Clyde Road, Menora, adjacent to the tennis club in the grounds of Alexander Park.

Meetings are normally workshops related to a specific technique or aspect of textile and fibre art. This could include a variety of machine techniques such as free-machine embroidery and unique ways of using standard machine stitches. We also have tutors who demonstrate traditional and contemporary techniques, incorporating hand stitching, aspects of design, felting, construction, embellishment, fabric dyeing and printing, experimentation etc.

In the main, workshops are hands-on and start promptly at 10am once the hall has been set up. A list of requirements is sent out to members before the workshop, but the Survival Kit always comes in handy. Occasionally there is a small fee to cover materials supplied by the tutor. Tea and Coffee is supplied, and members bring their own lunch.
